The Academic Division of ESCAP is looking for two new members who will organize and coordinate the Research Academy biennial meeting.

Activities of the Research Academy

The ESCAP Research Academy supports dual careers as clinician-scientists in Europe by offering training, encouraging collaborations, and providing a forum to share experiences with senior world-leading researchers in psychiatry.

During biennial meetings organized by the Research Academy a top-notch educational program is offered for a limited number of selected early career clinician-scientists (the fellows) in psychiatry and collaborative work among in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP) is supported.

Further information is available on the ESCAP website.

In collaboration with the ESCAP Academic Division the Research Academy (RA) advisors are responsible for the organization of the biennial meetings. Organizing ESCAP RA meetings is a fantastic opportunity to play a significant role in the training of young clinician-researchers in CAP at the European level and to coordinate international research projects through this network. In practice, organizing ESCAP RA meeting involves working closely with the ESCAP Academic division and ESCAP Communications Editor to:

  • finding a host venue (in collaboration with the ESCAP congress organizing team)
  • establishing a 2-day program
  • inviting distinguished speakers who are willing to spend 2 days to work on a specific topic with the fellows
  • preparing and publishing the call for applications and selecting the fellows based on objective performance and motivational criteria
  • organizing on-site social events (lunches and dinners)
  • leading pre-meeting group preparatory work with the ESCAP Academic division and ESCAP Communications Editor and
  • maintaining a post-meeting momentum with the fellows to run the research projects initiated during the meeting, all while paying close attention to the limited budget.
