APPIA is the portuguese association of child and adolescent psychiatrist, and most of the child psychiatrists are associates.
The Portuguese Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (APPIA) was created on 27 July 1989. The Annual National Meeting is promoted every year since 1990, attended by most of the portuguese child psychiatrists and other professionals working with children and adolescents in the field of mental health, education, justice and social protection. APPIA´s scientific journal – Revista Portuguesa de Pedopsiquiatria is published twice a year. APPIA is a member of the National Mental Health Council, an advisory body of the Ministry of Health, participating in the discussion and preparation of relevant documents for the definition of mental health policies in childhood and adolescence.
